It is clear from the guidance issued on Saturday evening, that the UK government wish for all manufacturing businesses like ours to continue to work to keep the country operating and supporting vital sectors. We remain committed to doing everything as safely as possible to maintain operational continuity and minimise any service or supply disruptions to our customers.
Omega Plastics (Gateshead) and Signal Plastics (Washington) continue to work 24/5 at our normal levels of pre-COVID-19 operating capacity. We plan to keep doing so safely at both sites.
We will continue to talk to our customers and suppliers to understand how COVID-19 generally and the new restrictions may impact any of them and how we can react and support.
We will review the guidance in relation to working from home and the clinically vulnerable or the extremely clinically vulnerable, again to understand any impact or changes to how we are currently working. We will also review our visitors and travel policy, to reduce the number of people on site at one time.
As we have been trying to do throughout the pandemic, we will keep our colleagues, customers, suppliers and business partners as informed as we can. We will issue a more detailed operational update later in the week.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or any additional queries, please do not hesitate to contact your OPG contact. Our contact details are on our website https://www.omegaplasticsgroup.co.uk/get-in-touch/
Stay safe and well.
