We have an established a Coronavirus contingency planning committee comprising of our Group Managing Director, Group Finance Director, Senior Technical Director, Group Operations Director, Group Commercial Director, Group Quality Manager and HR Advisor. The committee is meeting weekly, or more frequently if required, to review the position and ensure the business can be as prepared as possible for any possible risks or disruption.
We are reviewing our supply chain in relation to direct or indirect supply from affected areas, and where possible considering other suppliers in areas currently unaffected. We are also reviewing, where possible and proportionate, the potential to hold additional critical items of stock to seek to prevent or reduce disruption in our supply. We are also talking with customers and suppliers to understand their preparations and identify any areas of risk or potential disruption.
We are monitoring World Health Organisation (WHO) and UK government guidance and, since January, we have been issuing internal guidance to our colleagues each week to keep them informed and seek to put in place sensible protection in relation to travel and attendance at work. We have taken steps to follow WHO guidance on prevention by putting in place additional hand washing gels at both of our sites. We are asking all visitors to our facilities to complete a questionnaire before attending the site and similarly asking the same of customers or suppliers before we visit them. Where possible or appropriate, we will aim to reduce business travel by using calls or video conferencing instead.
If you have any additional queries, please do not hesitate to contact any member of our contingency planning committee or send an email to projects@omega-plastics.co.uk.
