Here are some of the great stories of our colleagues who go above and beyond to make a difference:
Janis Smith, our Commercial Support Administrator, is a befriending volunteer for MHA Gateshead. This role helps to reduce loneliness and improve the lives of those aged 55+ , helping them to live well in their own homes. Her unwavering support provides much-needed companionship to MHA members. Janis’ efforts are a testament to the positive impact that volunteering can have on the lives of individuals within our community. Janis has also dedicated some of her time, during annual leave, to sing for the members of the Thursday luncheon club at MHA Gateshead, based in Rowlands Gill. https://www.mha.org.uk/
Russell Stamp, Project Engineer, focuses his volunteer efforts on the Military Veteran Football Club C.I.C., which he helped to establish. His work helps unite veterans, who have served our country, through football. They organize and run 5-a-side football sessions for military veterans & serving forces. They currently have sessions in 11 areas of the UK and looking to expand. https://www.militaryveteranfootball.co.uk/
Dave Robinson, NPI and Technical Manager, takes on the role of coach and manager for the Whiteleas Sharks Under 13 football team. Dave’s commitment to coaching not only enhances the players’ skills on the field but also instills valuable life lessons in discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. https://www.facebook.com/people/Whiteleas-sharks/100046401946853
Danny Hooper, Account Manager and another stellar member of our team, serves as the chairman at Mainsforth Cricket Club, County Durham. His involvement in various club matters is immensely appreciated by all members. Danny’s dedication ensures the smooth operation and success of the club, fostering a thriving community for cricket enthusiasts. https://www.linkedin.com/company/mainsforth-cricket-club/
Last but not least, Our Executive Chair, Craig Swinhoe, exemplifies this commitment through his role as a FA Level 1 coach/manager for Heaton Stannington Juniors U14s Girls team. Under Craig’s leadership, the team has recently clinched the league title. Craig finds immense joy in watching his daughter, Molly, and her teammates train and excel, culminating in a well-deserved league triumph. Craig’s involvement not only promotes physical activity and teamwork but also fosters a supportive environment where young athletes can thrive. https://x.com/HeatonStanJnrs
The contributions of these volunteers are invaluable. Without their dedication and the dedication of their fellow volunteers, many of these teams and charities would simply not exist. Their efforts ensure that vital community services continue to thrive, providing support, joy, and growth opportunities for countless individuals.
All of us at Omega Plastics Group extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Janis, Russ, Dave, Danny and Craig, and others at OPG who give up their own time to make a difference.
