Meet Tom
“I joined Signal Plastics as a temporary Production Operative in January 2013, and progressed to various Team Leader roles after about 6 or 7 months and now I am a Shift Supervisor. My job role has changed a lot over these past 10 years. In my current role, I have responsibility over many sections in production and provide team briefings in shift handovers to ensure that production runs smoothly. When I first joined Signal Plastics the company had about 6 machines and the factory was a ¼ of the size of our current one at Bentall Business Park. I have loved seeing the business grow. My time at Signal Plastics has truly flown by. I appreciate all the training and development opportunities provided to me at Signal Plastics, all of which has allowed me to adapt my skills and abilities to various roles throughout the business.”
Meet David
“I have worked in technical roles in the automotive industry for over 30 years, working for tier one suppliers to prestigious OEMs across the UK and Europe. I first joined Signal Plastics as Technical Manager when we were manufacturing in a 10,000sq ft unit on Tilly Road with 6 machines. I moved into the role of Production Manager shortly after the business moved to Bentall Business Park where I am responsible for achieving the production plan, meeting the key performance measures and the production and assembly teams. I have enjoyed watching Signal grow from the day I joined to where it is now and seeing some of the team grow with the business, particularly the staff that joined as apprentices who have gone on to have full time jobs at the plant. I enjoy the day-to-day challenges working at Signal, no day is ever the same.”

“I started my career at Signal Plastics as a Business Admin and Production Apprentice 12 years ago. My plan was always to move into quality, so I worked as a Production Operative then moved onto being a Quality Technician, as well as working in Logistics and then started as a Quality Engineer in August 2021. Now in my role as Quality Engineer, I am responsible for maintaining our QMS, supporting our Signal Plastics Quality Team and ensuring all components meet customer expectations and requirements. Throughout my time at Signal Plastics, I have piqued an interest in the Automotive industry, and I really enjoy working on these components, liaising with customers, and understanding the industry in more depth. It is such a friendly team at Signal and that helps to bring a really positive environment to the facility.”
